The youth-wage contract: what it must contain

A contract between parents and kid is not a legal document but an agreement both have read beforehand. That is exactly why it works: arguments almost always arise over things that were not settled in advance.

1. The positions

Every position with a weekly maximum and an amount: room 2× CHF 5, bathroom 3× CHF 5, laundry for everyone 2× CHF 10. Plus one sentence on when it counts as done. Without that sentence every review becomes a negotiation.

2. The proof

A photo when reporting, a visual check by the parents, confirmation or rejection with a reason. The photo is not distrust, it is both of you looking at the same picture.

3. The settlement

Weekly, Monday to Sunday, payout on Sunday. Reset every week, no debt, no catching up. The stakes stay small and the chance returns every week.

4. The consequences

Planned and not done: the same amount is deducted. Kitchen or bathroom used and not cleaned: a request with a deadline, otherwise a deduction. This is the part other systems leave out, and the part that creates reliability.

5. The bonus

All positions complete: completeness bonus. Planned a week ahead: plus 10 percent. What gets rewarded is not the single task but keeping it up.

The contract page on sackgeldapp.com renders exactly these rules with your positions for printing, with signature lines for both.
